Three men were arrested Saturday after a drug deal reportedly went wrong.Council Bluffs Police officers were dispatched to the 500 block of First Avenue at 9:50 p.m. after reports of an armed subject.Officers spoke with Kenny Stutheit, 28, of Omaha, who said a white man by the name of “Dave” had met him in Bayliss Park, brandished a knife and demanded money from him. The caller said “Dave” left the area running north on Sixth Street.
Reports indicated further investigation revealed David Burgess, 32, of Council Bluffs, and Stutheit met in the park for an alleged drug transaction. Burgess was allegedly purchasing marijuana from Stutheit for $60.Reports stated Stutheit gave Burgess a bag of marijuana, but Burgess did not have any money. Burgess refused to give the marijuana back and Stutheit allegedly attempted to assault him. Burgess brandished a knife and Stutheit left the scene.Burgess was seen running into an apartment at 30 S. Sixth St., by a witness.
Officers made contact with Cory Dofner, 25, in the apartment. Dofner said he did not know Burgess, but other residents of the building said Burgess lived at the address.Officers searched the apartment and located a back exit where they found three knives at the bottom of the steps. Burgess was found near the entrance and placed under arrest. Officers found 12.5 grams in his front pocket, and he was arrested for suspicion of first-degree robbery and conspiracy to deliver marijuana.Stutheit reportedly told officers that Burgess didn’t demand his wallet, but refused to pay for marijuana. A search of Stutheit revealed several baggies of marijuana weighing 43 grams. Stutheit was arrested for suspicion of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and false reporting. Dofner was charged with interference with official acts.
Dude, if you're going to conduct criminal activity and you get ripped off, DO NOT CALL THE POLICE. How stupid is this guy?
