"If your life is an endless series of ups and downs, consider a more supportive bra." -Maxine

A week ago, I started thinking, "I need to go running".  I don't know why I started thinking that or what brought it about, because as you know, I hate running, but it kept niggling at my little brain.

Wednesday night I started charging my Ipod Shuffle just in case I was motivated to go running the next morning. I didn't set my alarm. I figured if I really wanted to go run, I'd wake up at the right time. Dammit, I did. I was up at . The Shuffle still wasn't charged, which was o.k. because I have to smoke 2 cigarettes and drink my Caffeine-free Diet Pepsi before I can do anything else anyway.

I changed my clothes. Men, you have no idea how easy you've got it. Those damn sports-bras are almost impossible to put on, let alone take off. And there is no room for anything to move, which is the point, I guess but I'd still like to be able to breathe. I wanted to put my cell phone in my bra because, well, I don't own a fanny pack and didn't trust my sweatshirt pocket to hold it and figured if I didn't take it, I'd twist an ankle, fall on my face, and be left there to die a humiliating death. So in the bra it went. At that point, after a 1/2 hour, the Shuffle was finally done charging and off I went at , running, in the dark, in 24-degree temps.

Alright, alright, it was more like a jog-walk-don't-die-jog-walk-you're-not-having-a-heart-attack-walk-jog-don't-pass-out-jog-walk-don't-trip-walk-jog. Amazingly, the cell still worked after being doused in sweat.

A friend of mine told me about a woman who coughed up a lump of something really disgusting. She took it to her doctor, they tested it and it turned out to be a cancerous lump.  After my jog-walk, I thought I was going to cough up all the tar & nicotine I've collected over the last 19 years. I would not take that to my doctor.

Isn't a person supposed to feel good after exercise? Like, the endorphins are firing & charged and a person's all peppy? That is not the case with me. After I showered, I could have easily crawled back into bed and slept the rest of the day. I must have defective endorpins.

Since I was up and it was still early morning, I decided to head to Walmart, my least favorite place. Walmart's the only store in town that carries cases of my soda, though, so I have to go there at least once every 2 weeks. Not in a hurry to get there, I hit every green light. That's 5 separate lights in a 5 mile trip.  I figured something really special must be waiting for me at Walmart for the universe or fate or whatever to get me there so quickly. I was wrong. I didn't see anybody wearing a Forever Lazy. I was disappointed.

I won't be able to go running for awhile since we're in for a big snowstorm tomorrow, which is good, because my shins hurt like hell and my muscles are in shock and need to recover.

Anybody who says they love running is bat-shit-crazy.
