"You will always be lucky if you know how to make friends with strange cats." -- Colonial American proverb

I got a new cat yesterday. So far, she & Elvis have been in the same room for a total of 25 seconds. There's a lot of growling & hissing going on, like the one who makes the most noise must be the Alpha. I keep calling Elvis a 'pussy'-- he's 14 years old, for pity's sake! He shouldn't be scared of a little girl! Man up! Though it is funny to see him run away (he runs like a girl).

The new cat's name was Munchkin when I received her. It's taken me 24 hours to decide on a new name. DALE. Short for DaLinda. Didn't I say I would name my next female cat after my parents since I won't be blessing them with actual grandchildren? Yes, I believe I did. So DaLinda it is and Dale for short. I think it's cool for girls to have nicknames that sound like boys. And I believe this one actually is my curse. She's 8 months old, got attitude, scratches/hisses/growls and I think she rolls her eyes at me....sounds just like me in my teen years (or now).

While Elvis was relegated to the bedroom, I was able to snap these few photos of Dale not having a hissy fit:

She loves to stare at all the outdoor activity. Can't wait to get her out on the balcony. At this point, I'm afraid she'd commit suicide, so let's wait a little while.

Below is the only picture I could get of her & Elvis in close proximity. This is the last 25 seconds they spent together in the same room. It didn't end in blood, but it did end in Elvis running away. Pussy.

This is gonna be fun!
