And for this one & only time, I do not mean the "I'm-sweating-my-ass-off" kind-of way, though it is awfully hot and I am sweating. Geez, I hate summer.
OKCupid sent me an email last week telling me "You are Hot!" I thought it was a joke.
I, by no means, consider myself hot. The veins on my face are ever-present. I use my nose-hair-trimmer, often, and not just on my nose. I'm pudgy. I'm out-of-shape. I have horrible bags under my eyes. My teeth are yellow. My smile is crooked. I have a lazy eye. My face, in general, is crooked. My boobs hang low. Thank FSM for good bras.
We're each our own worst critic, aren't we?
I'm not unattractive, however, though re-reading the above, I sound like Shrek. I have all my hair & teeth. I'm not obese. I have cute hair. My ears are normal size. I'm somewhat funny.
I am not hot and if OKCupid (or rather, the men on OKCupid) think I'm hot, I have to wonder what the other women on the site look like. I'm guessing there aren't any Cindy Crawfords on there.
So not only did I get a boost of self-esteem from a free on-line dating site and the numerous creepy dudes on said site, OKCupid wants to celebrate with me! How, you might ask? Want to meet for a drink? A movie? Hook-up? Noooooo. They're going to give me 'more attractive people' in my match results.
WTF?
You mean I wasn't seeing the most attractive people before? Ahhhh, that explains a lot. A LOT.
