Do you know the reason I post about my dreams?
Because they're more exciting than my real life. If all I have to post about is my frustrations and old men being a little too nice, then you'd be pretty bored.
Last night's dream was so vivid, I woke up thinking it was real. I had started a new job at the Department of Health & Human Services. That's when you know it's a dream. Me, helping children and families? I don't think so. It was my first day on the job and my previous boss and his wife arrived to take me to dinner. I can't remember the name of the place, but I do remember its location-- 78th & K. I wonder what's really at 78th & K....I even remember the menu and picture. It was a pretty bland atmosphere but the food looked good. Unfortunately, I never made it to dinner.
We had made plans to meet at 7:00pm. The clock in my office said it was 7:19pm. I was late and dealing with craziness at the office. While I was away from my desk, the other office ladies decided to use my office as a storage room. They moved 100's of shoes/shoeboxes into my office, directly next to my desk. It was bizarre. If you want to get rid of me, it would take less effort than that. I brought one of the ladies into my office and politely and professionally told her "this was unacceptable". Issue resolved. If only real life were that easy.
I left the office, hurrying to meet my friends. I had parked in an open parking lot. Two sections were divided by a concrete wall. I walked to the far lot, thinking that was where I parked. I couldn't find my car but noticed several others had been broken into. I walked over to the other lot and lo & behold, my car had been stolen, along with several others. Again, you know this is a dream because who the hell would want to steal a Hyundai? And yes, even in my dream, that's what I was driving. My dream ended with me, cell-phone-less, trying to get the parking lot attendant to let me use his.
I woke up thinking I had to call my brother for a ride to work.
