As I said in my previous blog post, I ate an entire tube of cinnamon rolls yesterday. ALL of them. Every last, delicious bite.
Then I read Stephen King's "Stationary Bike" short story in Just After Sunset. In it, Richard Sifkitz learns he has high cholesterol and his doctor describes it to him like this: You're dumping all this 'bad' food into you and who do you think cleans it out? Imagine workmen in chino's and Doc Martens shoveling all that bad food out, clearing a path. And Richard Sifkitz does. He imagines them so well, they become real. The doctor then tells him, those guys are going to get old. They might even come to hate you because they're working their asses off & you're not doing anything but shoveling more 'bad' food into yourself! They'll start to laze around instead of working hard. They might even miss a day of work. Then they'll revolt. And you'll be 300 lbs the next time I see you.
The story is much better than my description and to find out what happens, you'll have to get the book yourself or wait until I'm done and you can read mine.
The story definitely hit hime. I might not believe in god, but I believe in Stephen King. I believe he was trying to tell me, "No more freaking tubes of cinnamon rolls without working your ass off afterward!" Thank you, Stephen. Thank you.
