"You can't be friends with a squirrel! A squirrel is just a rat with a cuter outfit!" -Sarah Jessica Parker

As you may have read in many previous blogs, my grandmother likes to shoot squirrels. There is a tale I love to tell regarding this. I'm not even sure it's true, but I've told it so many times, it's become true to me.

Grandma keeps her gun in the bathroom because that window faces the backyard, which is, apparently, overrun with squirrels. Or, I like to think, she can pop a squat and shoot the little critters at the same time.  Regardless, this is her squirrel-blind. One time, she got so anxious to shoot the tree-rats, she forgot to put the screen up on the window and the BB wound up bouncing off and hitting her in the head. I wonder if the squirrels did a little happy-dance that day.

I asked Grandma once, "What do you do with the many squirrel-carcasses?" I'm imagining tiny little burial plots with tombstones like, "Bastard" or "MotherF&*$".  Nope. She chucks them over the backyard fence. I then asked, "What's beyond the fence?" Her response? "The neighbors."  Oh for pity's sake.

This beauty was sighted in our local Dixie Quicks. I think if Grandma encountered a bugger like this one, she might rethink the BB gun and go for something a little more powerful.
