Flabbergasted, adj. Appalled over how much weight you have gained. ~Author Unknown

I'm cat sitting for a friend. I've been cat-sitting this cat for 4 or 5 years. Her name's Rita. Rita started out a tad-bit feral. My friend's started feeding her, keeping her in the garage and eventually she became friendly. She'd hiss at me for the first day or two that I'd watch her, but once she figured out I was the one feeding her, she'd become friendly. She was, basically, a normal cat.

You know the issues I went through with Chica. About 2 years ago she started gaining weight inexplicably. It concerned me how large she was getting. She had to weigh 13-15lbs. She developed diabetes (I believe that's why she gained all that weight initially) and then eventually passed.

This cat, Rita-  if it doesn't weigh 20 lbs, I'm a monkey's uncle. She looks like she ate another cat! She's so fat, she can't even clean herself! It's a miracle her little legs can even support her weight! It makes me laugh every time I see her, but dang, I also feel incredibly sorry for her. Apparently their vet thinks the weight is o.k. She's healthy, otherwise. The vet, apparently, has cats that weigh more. Won't be visiting that vet!

Here's Rita (the picture just doesn't do her justice)

Here's Dale on the left & Rita on the right

It looks like Rita ate Dale!
