"It's okay to be fat. So you're fat. Just be fat and shut up about it." ~Roseanne Barr

About 4 years ago I started noticing my pant's size was getting smaller and smaller. Doesn't every woman love, love, love this? Of course we do! Granted, I had been working my ass off, getting in shape for the police officer exams, so of course my waist, bra size and shirt size diminished. I'd'a been pissed had they not.

Yet, after I stopped exercising and gained a substantial amount of weight (around 20 lbs), my pant size didn't increase all that much. I weighed the highest I've ever weighed in my life, yet I was still wearing size 8. I wore a size 8 in high school and didn't weigh as much as I did a short while ago. How is that possible? Why isn't a size 8 then the same as a size 8 now?

Let me tell ya- Vanity sizing.

Thank the FSM the morning DJ's were discussing this very thing the other morning. I've been saying for years now, "Regardless that you think you're a size 8. You're really a size 12. They've changed the sizes".  Nobody wanted to hear that, but I said it anyway, dammit.  Designers/manufacturers, every 20 or 30 years, 'change' women's sizes.  This makes the buyer 'feel better about themselves'.

WTF?

Are we all so stupid & simpleminded that we don't realize, even though our weight has NOT changed, suddenly we're wearing a smaller size than we did 10 years ago?  I was a size 8 in high school. I'm still a size 8 now, even though I wear a 4. Ridiculous. I know I'm still a size 8. Trust me, it doesn't make me feel better that now I have to try on 3 different sizes of the same pant because I don't have any freaking clue what 'size' the manufacturer thinks a size 8 is now.

They're lying to us!  To try to make us feel better! They must think all women are clueless idiots.

I wonder what a size eight 20 years from now is going to be. 00? And a size 3 will be, what? A negative 3?

Stop the madness!
