"Having a bad day? Well, better you than me." - Maxine

These are just a few random thoughts of mine today....

First, and foremost, I'm pleased to announce I have not taken one Advil today! As much as I love Advil, it's nice to not have to take three in one sitting. My neck is less sore and my bruise is healing....You might not think so when you see the picture, but trust me, this is loads better.

Pretty gross, isn't it? I love sharing this picture. In fact, my friend feels bad about what happened, but I'm honestly thrilled. 1. I didn't die. 2. I have a great story to share! Read about it in a previous post this month.

I'm just happy I can cross my legs without wincing.

My second random thought is about all the rain we've been getting. I'm so tired of wet feet from wearing sandals that I broke down and was wearing regular shoes. But I'm so tired of my shoes getting wet that I broke down and am now wearing my trusty galoshes. I bought these galoshes 15 years ago. Now they're too big. How did my feet shrink? Do feet shrink? By the time I'm 40 will I be a size 5 shoe? That could be problematic. Stores don't carry a lot of size 5's.

My feet want their sandals back. It's difficult to go from sandals back to regular shoes. My feet like their freedom. They like to feel the air. My toes like to show off their new nail polish. We need some warmer weather.....now.

And, yet again, I hear folks are yakking about me. Who knew I was so popular? This quote from Marilyn Monroe says it all...."When it comes down to it, I let them think what they want. If they care enough to bother with what I do, then I'm already better than them." I have to applaud my friend who shut down the complaining she was hearing about me. I'm glad she's got my back!

I've been wondering, Why now? What have I done recently that would set people off? The answer is....nothing. But there's a lot of change going on at the church and people are full of fear & anxiety. Those emotions tend to come out in the form of anger. It's these people's way of dealing with emotions they don't know how to deal with. I understand that. I don't like it. But I understand it. Who knew church could be so toxic? I did. I knew it coming in. People come to church broken, hurting, with a ton of baggage. And most don't deal with it. They're too afraid to deal with their own problems. I pity them.

As Proverbs 13:3 says, "He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life; but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction."

Take that.
