"Experts say you should never hit your children in anger. When is a good time? When you're feeling festive?" --Roseanne Barr

I'm in a very good mood today.  I've been pondering as to "Why" because there isn't much different today versus any other day. But my mood is certainly different. Lately, I've just been "maintaining".  Neither good nor bad, though bad seems to win out most days (Can you say, Frustrated?).

It could be what led up to this day....Thursday (my day off) was fabulous because I only spoke to my mother all day.  That's always a good day, when I limit the amount of people I have to speak to.  I know it's good for everybody else, too.  Friday...another good day because I was alone at work. The only people I spoke to were those on the phone.  And it was good because I accomplished a lot that day.  Saturday...was up early (not good) but it allowed me to get my laundry done by 8:00AM, then did a little shopping (though I didn't find anything I wanted), then lunch with my family. That's usually less fun because I don't do well around children (they're too loud and too whiny and too selfish and too out of control...but so am I), but we met at Village Inn and the food was good.  Nap time Saturday afternoon was dandy.

Snow started falling Saturday around 3:00PM and that always makes me happy, if not a little nervous about driving to work the next day.  I woke up this morning to many, many church closings and thought, "We cannot close!" and we didn't, praise the Lord.  Another good thing about this morning?  My street was plowed and by the time I got to my garage (6:20AM) my parking lot was also plowed.  I called the City and my apartment manager to thank them for the good work they do.  It's either fantastic because it allows me to get to work....or it's horrible, for the same reason.  Just kidding.  It's a good thing and I wanted them to know how thankful I was.

There's something about snow.  It makes me happy.  I think part of it is-- I'm proud that I made it into work and home from work without wrecking or getting hit.  And a snow day like this makes church different.  There were certainly less people at church and I think that has something to do with the good day I'm having. It's less crowded. It's less frantic.  It's more fun. There's less yelling at me. Though, those who yell always seem to find a way.   Plus, it's another nap day.  I'm home by 1:00PM, eat lunch, then nap.  What's better than that?  I need a job where I work 6AM-2PM.  Who would've thought? I remember, when I was in college, leaving home by 6:30 every morning to drive 60 miles one way to school and saying, "I will never have a job where I have to be to work by 8! It's too early!!".  Yet, here I am, awake by 5:30AM each morning and I love it.

So what puts you in a good mood?

Reading your blogs puts me in a good mood; and a good glass of shiraz and chocolate and music.
