What's a better nickname? Cujo or Cougar? I'm sticking with Kim.

I had a Finance meeting this evening.  I should have known, by the way the "before-meeting" meeting happened, that it would end the way that it did.  When I'm being called "Cujo" and "Cougar" before the meeting even starts, you know it can't end well.  Though, at the beginning, I took those nicknames as compliments.  Cujo. I'm tough as nails. I'm a little bit psycho, so don't mess with me. I'll rip your head off.  Cougar. Hot older woman hitting on younger men. What's wrong with that?

Oh yeah. I work for a church. That's what's wrong with that.

This is another Dave-ism, except I don't really have an "ism" to go with it.  It's just something Dave ingrained into me during his reign as pastor.  Never, ever close your office door while meeting with the opposite sex.  To protect yourself and to protect the other person.  Not that any man would ever claim I sexually harassed him, but you just never know what some people will do or say. And I don't want to put myself into a position where rumors, innuendo and gossip can breed.  I don't want to give any kind of perception that I'm hitting on a married man....or any man in the church, for that matter.  Everything is conducted out in the open.  Trust me, I do not want your man.  But.....Just but....someone would think so.

During the meeting we were discussing an upcoming class offered by the Conference.  There were supposed to be 3 of us going (me, being one of the 3).  Now there are two. Me and a married man. Driving together. Alone. I mentioned during the meeting that we needed one other committee person to go. Nobody stepped up.  So I said that I felt it was inappropriate for us to go together....alone.  This is mostly to protect myself. To protect my reputation.  It takes freaking years to build a reputation and only one second to ruin it.

They all looked at me like I was on crack.

Crack is whack...and so are they.

They're all married! Of course they have no idea what it's like to be a single woman....when all married women think you're after their man.

They still looked at me like I was on crack.

Thanks a lot Dave.

funny thing, if it was one of their wives going on one of these with a single guy they would totally get it.
