Laughter really is the best medicine!

Last night, my brother, Ben and his girlfriend, Nicole, came over to play cards. I love having people over to play games. I'm home. I'm comfortable. I'm with friends. I'm laughing my ass off. I'm eating my favorite pizza. We're playing cards. What could be better than that?

Ben was on fire last night. Not so much with the cards, though he did win a few.  He was on fire with his comments. He should have been doing stand-up at the Funny Bone. Here are a few:

"It's like taking a dump after a shower....you just don't do it."
"The Devil heard our cries-- Nicole finally lost a hand."
"Have you ever heard of a Mexican named Kevin?"
And all night....."Skeet, skeet, skeet".  I honestly didn't know where the hell this was coming from, but apparently African-American men say it all the time while playing cards.  I'm still confused.

I don't remember exactly what he's doing in this picture, but I think he was trying to be Gilbert Gottfried. Gilbert has squinty eyes that Ben is trying to emulate.  He isn't achieving that. His eyes are actually closed, not squinted.  I was cracking up. Surprised I was able to even take a picture.

My only funny comment of the night? "At least I'm not farting."  Because that boy passes gas like no other. It was all still funny.

We played Scat (shout-out to Aunt Bev for teaching me how to play!), Spoons (which I lost horribly...Ben's a vicious, brutal, break-your-thumb player) and Phase 10.  Ben and I were losing so badly at one point and Ben kept saying, "There's been a shift in the matrix. Nicole's winning. I don't understand. There's a glitch." Poor Nicole.  Though she did win Spoons. Damn it.

And so did Ben.

Notice there isn't a picture of me.  Because I lost.  It doesn't matter.  It was such a fun, fun evening.

Oh, ignore the paint in the background. I'm working on it.....
