Let me preface this by saying, any of you reading this blog are not one of the people I'm talking about, obviously. If you're reading this blog, it's because I've invited you to read it. Therefore, that means I like you & respect your opinion. This is not about you.
I've been pondering this a lot lately. There are quite a few people in my life, who I have to deal with on an almost-daily basis, who I just can't stand to be around. It's mostly pompous, arrogant, know-it-all assholes, as I stated on FB.
I put on a friendly face. I'm as helpful as I can be. I'm professional. But in reality, I'm swallowing my pride, I'm sucking it up, I'm taking one for the team, I'm gritting my teeth & bearing it, because in reality, I can't wait to get away.
It makes me wonder. How can I not-like so many people? It must be me. Which.....duh. Of course it's me.
But then I also realize, I'm surrounded by many, many more people than usual, so inevitably, there are going to be some that rub me the wrong way...who I'm not a fan of. If I were surrounded by 10 people, I might not like 1. But I'm surrounded by more than 10, so inevitably the number of people I dislike is higher. And let me also say, I know for a fact that there are people who have to interact with me who dislike me as much as I dislike others. I know I'm not loved by everyone. So it's a two-way street.
I just wish there was a way to minimize my interaction with those people I can't stand to be around. I wish I could become a hermit and live off the land. Unfortunately, I like indoor plumbing and electricity and my computer and reality t.v. So all the haters out there are stuck with me and I'm stuck with them. I guess it's the cross I have to bear to have the luxuries that I desire.
Crap.
