I saw on the CBS Early Morning Show on Saturday, October 2nd, a story about a new nasal spray, Oxytocin. The story was geared more towards men, but I don't understand why. It was like they were talking directly to me and saying, "Good God, woman, get on this drug now!"
See the story here: http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=6921116n&tag=embedFD.
My understanding is, Oxytocin is a naturally-occuring hormone released from our pituitary gland. Women have more of it than men. (That's debatable, if you know me). The CBS story highlighted the "cuddle drug" because, they claim, it makes people nicer, more affectionate, more sensitive, more compassionate. Basically, a good human being, of which, I am not. Obviously, I need mass amounts of this drug.
My google search of Oxytocin found this from Wikipedia: "Oxytocin evokes feelings of contentment, reductions in anxiety, and feelings of calmness and security around a mate.[13] Many studies have already shown a correlation of oxytocin with social bonding, increases in trust, and decreases in fear. One study confirmed that there was a positive correlation between oxytocin plasma levels and an anxiety scale measuring the adult romantic attachment.[14] This suggests that oxytocin may be important for the inhibition of brain regions that are associated with behavioral control, fear, and anxiety, thus allowing orgasm to occur."
It just keeps getting better & better.
