I may just be too sensitive, but are the cashier's at No Frills judging me?
I eat Tombstone personal pizzas every day. So I buy a lot of them. The cashier asked me, "Do these fill you up?" Yep, they sure do. "But is it just you eating them?" Yep, just me. "Awwwwwww", she responds. My reply? "You say that like it's a bad thing". Backpedal, backpedal, backpedal.
What the hell? The cashier at No Frills feeling sorry for me because I'm single? What?!? And her life is so great?
The second incident had to do with smoking. I generally purchase my Marlboro Light Menthol cartons while I'm getting grociers. Two birds w/ one stone, you know? And the cashier was high & mighty about not smoking. Now, I understand. Smoking is bad. I know that as well as anyone. I knew it when I started. And I know it now. It's a choice I made years ago. I own that. But don't get all high & mighty with me until you've walked in these high heels.
Am I too sensitive? Or has customer service turned into judgment at the pearly gates?

I think cashiers need to just shut the hell up and reserve judgement until after you leave. I mean, what if someone buys condoms, size extra small? No guy wants to hear the clerk's opinion on his schlong size. What if you're buying an enema kit? Or hemmorhoid cream? I don't need the clerk's approval. My life is mine, damn it!
Honestly, from the retail point of things I have seen just about everything between the pharmacy I'm at now and the dollar store I used to manage. Perhaps these cashiers have been at the job long enough that they think that longevity makes them invulnerable. Speak to the manager, opinions are like assholes and the cashiers probably smell.
