I'm 34 years old and single. I haven't dated in over 3 years....the entire time, coincidentally, I've worked at the church. Just an interesting tidbit of fact. Apparently, no single, non-crazy, not-living-with-their-mothers, not-afraid-to-ask men attend church. Where else can I meet a man? I've hung out at Kum & Go, Menards, the grocery stores. I get weird looks from moms w/ children, but other than that, no luck. I don't frequent the bars since I've stopped drinking (what would be the point, right?) and picking up a man at a bar didn't work for me the last 15 years, so why would it work now?

But that isn't the point of this blog. This blog is about singles websites. I've joined two in the last month-- Plentyoffish and Mingle2. They're both free websites.

I should preface this by saying...I'm looking for a man to be a man. Take the intiative. Grow some balls and set the fear aside and pursue me. Not in the "I'm-gonna-stalk-you" kind of way, but pursue me like a woman wants to be pursued. I'm so sick of men who can't make a decision to save their lives. On to the singles sites...

I haven't gotten any contact from Plentyoffish. I tell myself I must not be slutty enough for the men on the site. Apparently, posting crude pics & comments is a must in order to be contacted by men from this site. Not happening. And this site is just poorly set-up. The pictures are whacky skewed and small. Once you log-in, it's basically a screen with little thumbnail pics of people who "they" claim you might be interested in.

I've had more luck on Mingle2...because this site offers the "I'm too scared to contact you directly, so I'm going to see if you'll 'match' with me"-- Mutual Match. This is nice...it's a feeler so your feelings are less hurt if someone rejects you. But after I've said, "Yep, I'll Mutual Match with you", shouldn't the guy contact me via email on the site? No. The only email I've received is from a nice-looking 20 year old saying he was looking for "friends with benefits"....and he wasn't talking about friends who work at Target and can get him a discount.

So, what's the deal? What am I doing wrong? Am I not as attractive or interesting as I think I am? That can't be possible and don't even trying commenting on that! :) Send me a list of places to pick up men that don't include stripping, getting drunk, or dancing on a stage.

This girl needs a date.
