December 30 – Gift Prompt:-- Gift. This month, gifts and gift-giving can seem inescapable. What’s the most memorable gift, tangible or emotional, you received this year? (Author: Holly Root)
omg, how can I choose a gift? I try to give thoughtful gifts to everyone I gift to...I stress over it and I realized this year, maybe I shouldn't. Nobody else does, except my best of friends. So why do I? Because I care. Because I want the gift I give to be personal and memorable. My best gift this year was to myself, sadly. It was something I really wanted, but didn't necessarily need...Though my parents gift was also memorable. None of us expected it. I think they're trying to get rid of their inheritance before they die and we all fight over it. I don't see a big fight coming, but apparently my parents are at the age, that's what they worry about. Or, they have enough, they can share, and that is certainly appreciated.
December 29 – Defining Moment-- Describe a defining moment or series of events that has affected your life this year. (Author: Kathryn Fitzmaurice)
Ooooh, this is a thoughtful one. I don't like thoughtful ones. I like easy ones. What affected my life this year? My pastor leaving and a new pastor arriving. I thought I was handling it pretty damn well-- In fact, I did handle the pastor leaving damn well. But the new pastor arriving....maybe my expectations were too high. It's not been an easy adjustment. But that's what it is, right? It's just an adjustment of what I'm used to. That's all it is. Just readjust to a new work enviroment. I sound like I'm trying to convince myself. Yes. Yes I am.
