"We are the hero of our own story." -- Mary McCarthy

December 31 – Core Story-- What central story is at the core of you, and how do you share it with the world? (Bonus: Consider your reflections from this month. Look through them to discover a thread you may not have noticed until today.) (Author: Molly O’Neill)

What central story is at the core of me?  Gotta say....my story is not rainbows, lollipops and unicorns.  It's more like a warning you find on cigarette boxes: Bad for your health. Or This is what not to do.  "If you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to serve as a horrible warning.”—Catherine Aird.

A horrible warning I shall be.

Even though I've read through each blog from this month and I do see a central theme of laughter, family & friends, I think my story is more about perseverence; of never giving up; of just hanging on one more day; of "this too shall pass" mentality.  That's who I am.  I'm no longer a pool of mush on the floor. I'm no longer burying my head. I'm no longer incapable.  I can and I will.

My story changes yearly.  Stay tuned for 2011's story.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
