You're never too old to learn something stupid.

And so it begins. I'm a day behind on the Reverb 10 challenge.  *sigh*.  But I'm catching up today.

Yesterday's Prompt: December 4 – Wonder. How did you cultivate a sense of wonder in your life this year? (Author: Jeffrey Davis)

I have to define wonder, because when I read the prompt, I think, "I have felt absolutely no wonder this year".  I assume they're using the word wonder to mean, "awe, surprise, marvel" instead of "doubt and confusion".  If it were doubt & confusion, I could write a book.  Awe, surprise and marvel....not so much.

I can't recall a single moment when I felt awe or marvel this past year.  I imagine that to be like a little child seeing reindeer tracks in the snow on Christmas morning....Can't you just picture their face?  Eyes bright, mouth in the "Oooooh" position, opening into a smile of awe & surprise. That's my vision of wonder.

Nope, I got nothin'.

But doubt & confusion, plenty.  That happens on a daily basis.  How do I make more wonder, the good kind, happen in my life?

I think its hard for us to sense the wonder of life when we are too busy. We don't take the time to be actively quiet before the Creator. Is that an oxymoron? We don't like quiet and so we fill it with our own voice or TV or a computer screen anything but the stillness. That's why, I think, we aren't able to see the wonder. IMHO.
