You get two Reverb10 prompts at once today. I decided to take yesterday off. It's a good thing, too, because I have a feeling these are going to be short.
December 16 – Friendship-- How has a friend changed you or your perspective on the world this year? Was this change gradual, or a sudden burst? (Author: Martha Mihalick)
I don't think I'm any different this year from the last. I'm still cranky, crabby, funny, tired, and judgmental with a black heart. Nor has my perspective on the world changed at all. It's still jaded & cynical, as usual. But, my friends this year have taught me the joy of laughter. I didn't realize it until writing previous blogs, but laughter is pretty darn important to me and a big part of my life.
December 17 – Lesson Learned-- What was the best thing you learned about yourself this past year? And how will you apply that lesson going forward? (Author: Tara Weaver)
The best thing I learned about myself this year was-- I can put up with a large amount of crap. It doesn't make me happy. It doesn't make me a pleasant person, but let's face it, does anything make me pleasant? It doesn't encourage me or lift me up. But I can deal with a large amount of doo doo. And applying that lesson going forward allows me to be strong in that knowledge. Strong in knowing that I can handle quite a bit of nonsense and stupidity before completely cracking.
